While on holiday I couldn't settle to anything "heavy" so I thought it was time I tried out something by Rhys Bowen.

& for a kindle freebie it was quite good. Bowen managed to give Molly some good character development (no doubt helped by this prequel being written after some of the Molly Murphy books) & I enjoyed Bowen's writing style. It is just that the (weak) ending was on you before you knew it, leaving me with a slightly unsatisfied feeling. But it was just good enough that I will try more of Bowen's work!

Interesting but short

I liked the story well enough, though I wasn't expecting it to be a short one. I may look into more of this series, as the author writes rather well, and keeps me entertained no matter the length.

This technically shouldn't count as a book - it was just a short story - preamble to the Molly Murphy series. And not nearly as good as one of the full books.

This started out with a good set-up but as it was a short prequel it came to a conclusion too quickly and seemed rather abrupt. I would like to,read the first real book in this series to better judge Molly and her activities.

More a short story, but the main character was charming, so I might have to look for the series.

This was a little palette cleanser I think. Short, sweet and to the point.

It was very short (about 13 pages) but over all decent.

Nice enough short story, then an excerpt from her latest Molly Murphy book. Don't think I'll bother with reading the whole thing. I like Molly, but the tone was way too modern for the setting and it just didn't sound like something I would enjoy.

Thought I would get more backstory about Molly than I did.
