fun, quirky, quick reminder you DON'T NEED to get married and/or have kids to live a fulfilling life and whoever tells you you do, they're lying. okay? okay. thank you. that is all.

An easy read. I was sceptical at first, but it is so bloody relatable and funny. It’s about the absolute bullshit of social media, changing friendships, emotionally abusive relationships that many of us settle for, and the judgement we all face as women in our 30’s unless we’re happily married with children.
It’s not the best book I’ve ever read and I did cringe quite a lot, but it did make me laugh out loud on the tube, so I’m giving it 3 stars.

The idea? Wonderful, astounding, something that more people should be writing about.
The execution? Crickets.
A book with complex topics (marriage, children, careers) shouldn’t have a rushed ending like that. I feel like the book was building up to some big realisation about living your own life and to not focus on others but… apparently not.
Also… images of an Instagram post in a book? It’s okay to experiment with formatting but that did not work at all.
Also yeah congrats to Tori for leaving Tom but the fact she’s stupidly oblivious about her career and how people must be envious of her. For there to be NO DISCUSSION (apart from a side character who were meant to dislike bringing it up) on how we perceive other lives vs how people perceive us just feels like a missed opportunity, especially given the overall message.

Very superficial book. Very predictable and a bit shallow.

Hyvä muistutus siitä ettei some ole totta ja miten koti elämä peitetään

I struggled with this book because I found the protagonist really unlikeable and annoying, but at the same time related to the difficult friendship situations that she finds herself in as a woman in her early-30’s. It took me some time to finish the book after starting but I got through it.
