After very much consideration, I have decided that I am not continuing on with this series. The only reason I didn't DNF this book is because I read this as part of the readathon and I wanted full points for it.
Action and Pacing were really good as usual. The awesome ending to this made it difficult for me to DNF the series, but A Time of Courage is too long and the action alone cannot save a series for me.
I have a lot of issues with this series.
1. Characters - The characters in this series felt pretty bland. Compared to FATF, they fell flat, and didn't have their own voice in my opinion. Apart from Drem, I didn't care for any of them. They felt pretty formulaic to me and I started feeling bored pretty soon.
2. Villains - Don't get me started on this. One of my favourite things about FATF was it's villains. They were so hateable and so powerful. Not in this series. The villains are pretty week and not at all good (in my objectively subjective objective opinion). I have never read such incompetent villains. Honestly, I could have done a better job than them. Sigh.
3. Plot Conveniences - This was something that bugged me in FATF as well, but not much. But it really hampered my enjoyment in this one. I find it ridiculous that a group of 20 find it so difficult to kill a group of 2-3. So much plot armour. Ugh.
That was my rant. I hope others like it more that I did.
Of Blood and Bone as a whole didn't bring anything new to the table.
