Drugs and Brisbane…. And the 1980s (which can honestly be so hit and miss).
At a surface level, this is a book that shouldn’t be for me and this is where I have to really commend Dalton’s marvellous storytelling. I didn’t need 100 pages to get hooked on this book; I was in pretty much from the get go. And I also really liked the overall pacing - I didn’t get bored mid way, I just was able to kind of plod my way through pleasantly, occasionally wondering if I would ever teach it.
Those final chapters were very me though - whilst highly unrealistic, what a ride!
