Spoiler
It's important to note that this book was first published in 1997 and you can tell. Robert the main character is 12 years old and was born in 1986 which is jarring in a 'modern' book.
The story elements are fine and the visuals are nice but considering this is a book marketed at children who struggle with maths and I am an adult who is confident with maths, the maths was very poorly explained and very often overcomplicated simple concepts.
In addition, some of the maths is now outdated and has been disproved although that is not the fault of the author.
The decision to use made up terms throughout the book and then include a disclaimer at the end is silly I think as most children will not read the disclaimer and will end up confused.
Finally there were a few fat phobic comments, there was racist images of Asian characters, and the description on the Bonacci sequence using rabbits suggested that all birth occurs through brother/sister incest which is confusing for children.

Wow. This book is like a maths textbook but make it a fictional story. Such a fun read believe it or not. Extremely interesting.
