Book club book for November! I enjoyed parts of it but the story itself is basic and filled with narsassitic ramblings that don’t add anything to the story.

Deep Water was a rollercoaster with a steep incline and one hell of a drop! Admittedly, I almost gave up on it a quarter of the way through because the plot builds so, so slowly, but I'm glad I kept going. Can I call Vic an anti-hero? Maybe not because, at any point and time, he could have spoken his mind, left, or stopped living in a self-imposed fantasy-land with Melinda. Yet, she irked me so much so that I was rooting for Vic in a way, along with the rest of the townsfolk. Is that bad? I feel like that's bad. I saw the ending coming a mile away, but can't say I was surprised, only flabbergasted that Melinda thought the outcome would be any different.

I really enjoyed the book, It was what i needed after my reading slump. What I hated about this book is that not so much is going on, you see some of the true colors of the male lead, but moslty his dumb and annoying and ungratefuI wife just complaining, cheating, trying to put the murders on him( even tho she is right). I very much liked the ending because it gave me a new perspective about the lead, that maybe I saw it coming but did not acknowledge.

I came for the cool vintage psychological thriller, but I stayed for the weirdly intimate snail erotica. Hortense & Edgar- OTP
