I was hoping for much more from this sequel. It wasn't bad but it didn't wow me. I think a lot of that is because the pacing seemed off and I struggled to want to pick it up at times. The overall story I still liked but idk maybe middle book syndrome.

I think this book is basically just a set up for the final book in the trilogy. There is conflict between different characters and themselves but everything seems to be solved too easily (just one conversation). I did enjoy it but I hope the next one is better.

As per usual, I give YA books more leniency in rating. Also is everyone in this book queer?????

Natasha girl that last 30%... SISTER I ATE THAT UP.

Like the tonal shift from the first book and this one is sort of jarring not going to lie. And it's not to say the premise isn't there, these girls are going from sexual oppression to fighting a war and tyranny. As such the tone should have been maintained but we jump from the consequences of war to dick jokes. Some of the books conflicts didn't even need to occur but sister that last 30 percent and how it ended??? I might as well finish the trilogy

This book and the series so far has been incredibly hard to read. Not because it is bad, quite the opposite actually. This book has made me feel seen in my own journey of healing and dealing with trama. It shows the ugly truth of every topic it covers, but does so with such authenticity it can make it hard to breath. I am enraptured by this book and Natasha's writing. Her imagery is incredible and descriptive and her story is profound.

A great follow up to the first book, and it has me excited to read the final installment in the series!
