This was an enjoyable collection of short stories. I’ve not read any of Le Guin’s work before, so this was a nice introduction. She clearly cares a lot about crafting unique characters. Some stories were astounding and gorgeous (The Diary of the Rose, The White Donkey, Gwilan’s Harp, Sleepwalkers), but the final couple stories bored me and left me with a meh feeling as I finished. Still worth reading if you like Le Guin’s work or if you’ve not read her work before and are curious!
Moderate: Ableism and Forced institutionalization
Minor: Adult/minor relationship and Alcoholism
