This is a well-written romance between an octopoid creature and a human woman. I'm glad I read it, but it wasn't a book that I found to be a page turner or so riveting that I couldn't put it down. The author's Infinite City series was a lot more exciting to me.
I think I just didn't connect to the main characters very well. Jax's personality didn't do it for me. I didn't like how often he would just leave her alone. Also Macy made some decisions that frustrated me. She's a 25 year old woman, which I'm glad she wasn't younger than that. I still found it hard to believe she did suspect
The characters that I did like were Arkon, and eventually even Dracchus. I am excited to read books about them.
