Naïve in Love is an interesting, relatable story. Even though it took me a bit to get into, it almost immediately brought me back to my college days and balancing the struggles of transitioning, friendships, boys, and classes. By the halfway point I was chuckling, wishing I could send this book to my eighteen-year-old self with the note “Boys like Caleb = BAD, Boys like Ethan = PURE GOLD.”

And despite typically not loving the insecure, dependent female main character, I found Sophia’s struggles to be very representative of the doubts and mistakes all females make at one point or another, especially as it served a purpose to demonstrate the necessity of our struggles in making us who we are. It was well summed up by this gem at the end:

“Would I have chosen this path had I known? Probably not. But that is the thing about life, it leads you through obstacles to build your strength and character.”
