It was a good introduction to vegan baking substitutes but I can't comment on the recipes because I didn't try any. I will be keeping this on the shelf though in case I ever decide to go the vegan route. It is also a good reminder to use healthy substitutes in all of cooking as a quick way to cut back on calories.

Lots of good vegan tips, including substitutions. The recipes look really good, can't wait to try some! I'm not vegan (or even vegetarian) but healthier baking is always a good idea!

It's more like 3.5 stars for the book. It was a pretty good book, just didn't stand out much from all the many and many vegan cook books out there. And I've read quite a lot of them. There was a tad of creativity but not too much. This book would be perfect for someone just starting to try vegan baking out. One of the things though off the top of my head that frustrated me was the roasted garlic naan. In the recipe it says if you can't find roasted garlic in the store, then chop and saute up some garlic instead. This is a cook book, there should be no reason I should be buying something as simple as roasted garlic in the store. Especially when more of all the recipes in the book rely heavily on store bought items(Not that it's a bad thing). And then to suggest sauteing garlic instead as if roasting it yourself for the recipe would be too much. Wasn't a cook book I'd run to but I would recommend it to others.
