This is a fictional story of real life events. Maids emigrate to Cyprus for a better life but spend their lives indebted to the companies that brought the there. This is the story of one of those women who then went missing. Her boss tries to find her and in doing so learns a lot about her. In the end a madman killed her.

It was just a massive letdown for me compared to the beekeeper of Aleppo. I didn’t feel connected to anyone and the plot was incredibly predictable. I’m really not sure what went wrong, her debut novel was breathtaking. I adored it, but this just wasn’t for me. 🖤
