A real rollercoaster of a sequel to The Wolf Den. Emotions always seem to be high and you can never be entirely certain of what will happen next.
Two things made this book for me: the brilliant way the author brings this ancient world to life, and each encounter with Felix. His character is so hateable, so unbelievably awful, and you know that in each part of the book you have an encounter looming ahead, which makes it so tense.
I look forward to reading the final book and hope for a good ending to the trilogy.

A solid follow-up to a fantastic book. Eloise Harper is an expert at weaving tension through a novel.

a very solid sequel to an incredible first instalment. harper kept me hooked the whole way and i am still keen to read the last of the tale, which is always a good sign. i do think parts of the plot could be more thoroughly written; some actions that amara takes deserve more than the few lines that are given as explanation. but the novel is very entertaining, quite stressful (in a good way) and i am interested to know what happens next, so you can’t complain.

Much like the first book, this is beautifully written even though the subject matter can be difficult at times.

If you haven’t read the first book yet, it’s important to start there. This book won’t make as much sense if you haven’t read that first.

It was interesting to see how Amara’s lifestyle is different now that she is a free woman. However, life is still extremely difficult for her. I also love the complex relationships between many of the characters.
