Kandi has become one of my favorite Authors and I am SO excited about that.
This book had me all shades of loving it. It's sweet, and swoony (hello Anderson!) It's sexy and thought provoking. I adore Wren and Anderson. And all the side characters (except for Sarah).
I loved this book.

I read this as part of the SBTB quarterly challenge - 'read a book where one of the main characters is divorced.' And it was perfect for the challenge because the divorce was one of the main themes of the book.

And the book was perfectly adequate. Formulaic and completely predictable, but not offensive. And since it's part of the Audible Romance Package, it's free. I got what I paid for....

Some of the metaphors were a little strange - I wished an editor would've given some wordsmithing suggestions. And Anderson's drama was pretty unbelievable. His life pretty much stopped for 7 years because he felt guilty for something that happened when he wasn't around. I don't think so.

The couple was also ready to spit up because she was moving back to Seattle and it was.... wait for it.... an hour away! Oh no! No one can maintain a relationship if they're divided by an hour. (Except perhaps for those people who commute it every day...)

And then there's the fact that I didn't really like the h, Wren.

Themes: Seattle, river cottage, divorce, guilt, fashion

This is the first book I've read by this author and she didn't disappoint. This was an emotional book of two people coping with different losses very differently.

Wren was recently divorced when she met Anderson while trying to "find herself". Anderson had suffered a terrible loss that shut him off from everyone else until he met Wren. This wasn't insta love. It took a lot out of these two to actually have any type of relationship or even have a conversation. While Wren was trying Anderson wasn't letting anyone in.

They both needed and saved each other in very different ways. They didn't know how much they needed each other until they slowly started developing a relationship. Of course there were two or three bad eggs but not enough to cause lots of drama and angst. There are a few that you will want to slap but other than that a good read.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Kandi Steiner fans get ready for her new book which will be sure to become your new favorite. Her characters come alive and their fears and experiences are tangible because they are things we all go through or think about. They are relatable and have you wondering what you would do in that situation.

Her new book takes you on a journey to a small mountain town where you will meet two lost souls who find each other and together they will be tested and forced to face the things that hey fear the most.

Wren is ready to start over. After divorcing her husband she decides it's time to get out of the city and clear her mind for the summer. She finds a cabin in the mountains for 3 months and hopes that not only will she be able to find the new Wren but that she will hopefully find inspiration for her new clothing line, especially since she hasn't sketched anything in months.

Anderson just goes through the motions each day. He gets up, goes to work, comes home, takes a shower, and then goes to bed and begins all over again the next day. He barely talks to anyone and doesn't even know how to live anymore, that is until he meets the newest resident of the town.

Wren isn't expecting Anderson to come help her one night and after their brief encounter she is drawn to him immediately. Anderson can't believe that he has stepped outside of his box and helped someone new, but a few moment in Wren's presence and his normal routine is turned upside down.

Wren and Anderson begin to form a friendship that works for them. As they spend more time together they learn that each of them has a secret and fear that they aren't ready to give up yet, but they are willing to maybe let someone new in. As their relationship grows into something more they are faced with the reality that at the end of the summer Wren is leaving and their relationship is only temporary.

Will Wren be able to get over her own insecurities and believe in herself? Or will she let the summer come and go without taking a chance on something real? And will Anderson finally let go of the past and forgive himself? Or will he let the best thing that's happened to him, Wren, leave and continue on each day as a robot?

Join Wren and Anderson as they learn to finally trust not only themselves but each other.

This was a beautiful slow-burn romance. I absolutely love everything Kandi writes and I knew I wanted to jump right into this one.

It was heartbreaking at times, especially learning the stories of the main characters. It was also heartwarming those as well. This story had all the feels, but they were subtle a lot of the times. It was just a gorgeous story with characters you can't help but fall in love with.

I adored this story, just as I do all of Kandi's work and I can't wait to read more from her.
