More like 2.5 stars. This was too much of a mix between A Walk to Remember and The Fault In Our Stars. It did have its moments of originality but it got ridiculously repetitive and cheesy. It got extremely cringy at times as well when I considered the age of these characters. I think a love sick 15 year old girl would eat this book up though.
Now, let’s talk about the that ending… WTF!? Seriously? You kill off the remaining character but don’t even tell us how? That just pissed me off.

I listened to this on Audible, so it took me forever to finish. I also watched a lot of TikTok videos spoilers, so i did not cry at the ending lol. This is very much YA, so no spice at all, which is fine, but it was tough for me to finish. Not gonna lie. Overall, it was a good book. I would say 3.5 for sure.

I typically stay away from tear jerkers, but I'm so happy I read this! I liked how it showed you how intense and all-consuming teenage love can be and how beautiful poppy's thoughts on death were. I did not like the epilogue, though. I did think that rune would never move on from poppy or fill his jar and i didn't want to him die an old man without finding love again but to pass only 10 years later just didn't feel right to me.

This book was sad and I guess sweet at times. But the dialogue was so corny and repetitive at times, I had to skip over their conversations. Also a grandma telling an 8 year old to collect a thousand boy kisses is obscene.

Still processing still sobbing. This book wrecked me from the very beginning omg.
Poppy and Rune are destined to be together at very young age. They know they love each other and are soulmates from five years old. After beginning together for years, Rune’s father gets sent back to Norway for work and they are forced to separate. Rune and Poppy promise to keep in touch and Rune promises he will come back together and they continue to love eachother even miles away but Poppy goes ghost. Two years later, they’re back face to face. Rune is full of angry but the secret that Poppy holds and the reason she went ghost two years ago makes sense and they now have to navigate the short amount of time they have left with each other. I absolutely adored this book. Poppy being full of sunshine warmed my heart. She was so mature beyond her years. Rune loved her with all his heart and you could tell definitely towards the end with granting her all her wishes like it was amazing. He annoyed me with how much he blamed her father but I’m so happy they worked it out. I cried multiple times reading this book. I give it 5/5 ⭐️ I cannot wait to read Savannah’s story in book two in June! ❤️
