An enthralling read. A city becomes a character, ships become metaphors for dreams, dreams become impossible and soured, memories overspill.
Utopia becomes a poisonous mirage.

Amazing. Washed up sailors reconsidering their life choices, with the feeling of impending doom on every page. Just enough plot to keep things rolling along, but mostly a meditation on what it means to try and make a life for yourself in the late twentieth century.
