I think this still might be my favorite? It exemplifies the series' balance between funny absurd adventureism and serious fantasy quests. The Great Red Dragon, what a guy

In theory this is every little bit as good as the last volumes and the idea of the dragon panic could be linked to authoritarianism or a more generalized idea of moral panics. I'm sure some liberal in Twitter has already drawn a comparison between the Fence and Trump's Wall, but I've had enough of that in the last 5 years...
Truth be told, the schim between the seriousness of the story when contrasted with the B plot is not as efficient in this volume, and part of the reason why I'm lowering the rating.
But the quality of writing and art is still there so it definitely keeps the level.

Going back into this series is always such a joy, but I don't know if I will ever find these amazing. They are just very nostalgic from when I was younger. The art style is so unique and the story is very weird and interesting. I've never read anything like it.
