I started reading this book with absolutely no expectations because I didn't buy it purposefully, I just saw that it was on sale and knew it had a lesbian main character which is more than enough to get me to buy a book. Instead I got 2 lesbian main characters and a book that's easily become one of my favourites. I have to admit, the Kristen Stewart references did get me very early on. I'm a sucker for K Stew references, can you blame me? But apart from that the story is so captivating and not necessarily because it's so adventurous, which it is, but because the characters and the plot feel so natural. Aideen is such a complex character with such real flaws and struggles. I was so happy that she got the ending she deserved. She got the girl, she got friends, she got closure and she's getting the help she so desperately needs. Rating this book 4.75 ⭐️ instead of 5 solely because the romance is so slow-burn. Definitely check trigger warnings before reading!
