“Being vulnerable is underrated’

Subhanallah, where do I start with this book? Finally halal romance without it being explicit. It had romance, cringy pet names, ebbs and flows, and realness of the imperfections that we as humans have. It kept me enthralled the whole way through. I am definitely an Adam fan even from the first book. Especially Adam and his Abu, they are just everything. Other favourite characters being Hanna, Mila, Zayneb, and Bertha Fatima. All in all, it was just a beautiful read. May Allah bless the author

Love from Mecca to Medina is an incredible story. I had so many emotions running through my mind the whole time I was reading it. It’s just that I might not be able to express my emotions here in words. I was frustrated and smiling at the same time. But I’ll give it a try

"We're not tasked with the outcome of anything. A lot of my anxiety in life came from thinking that it was all in my hands. But only the effort is in our hands, Adam. We can't force or focus on what the end looks like; that's in Allah's hands." - Love from Mecca to Medina by S K Ali

The long-awaited sequel to Love from A to Z is a delight to fans and readers alike. It is quirky, heartwarming, wholesome and truly the positive and inspirational Muslim narrative that we are eternally grateful for. Filled with lots of wit and never holding back from the blatant truth, this is Adam and Zayneb that we know and love, and will always root for.

Love from Mecca to Medina witnesses both Adam and Zayneb at their most vulnerable. Married yet leading seemingly separate lives due to their obligations, our lovebirds are striving to design a promising future for themselves. Struggling with the trials of setting out their future careers - and in building a solid marriage, their perspectives shift as an opportunity arises - an Umrah trip for Adam and Zayneb.

What is inherently interesting about this book is how it examines the importance of this pilgrimage - the focus on worship and detachment from the worldly matters. Yet S K Ali beautifully weaves in the vulnerability and uncertainty in her characters as they battle their own doubts and insecurities to experience the beauty of being and worshipping in the Holy Land.

I loved how S K Ali started each segment with verses from the Quran, and how the element of faith and the Tawheed and Seerah are woven into the story so seamlessly and effortlessly. It is truly inspirational to be able to read such a positive and enlightenting Muslim narrative, a representation of Islam and its beauty. I was especially moved by all the stunning descriptions of Mecca and Medina, and how it evoked a sense of longing and reminiscing in me. This is a true testament to how this book is truly a gem of a story, a portrayal of love in its purest form, from Mecca to Medina.
