the romance was not convincing enough but the fantasy take on pride and prejudice was interesting enough for me to finish it.

*Reviewer’s note: since the stories and characters are so similar, I will be using the names of the P&P equivalent characters
Heartstone is Pride and Prejudice with Dragons.
Elizabeth is living that manor life at Merybourne, but a pack of wild gryphons are enjoying the town’s livestock a little too much. The town hires a group of dragon riders to take care of the problem, and thus arrives Darcy and co. Scatter a few gryphon battles in between the dances for some action, then add a lindworm boss battle at the end, and you’ve got the book.
My biggest surprise was that Kitty was offed by a gryphon before the events of the book for some pre-game trauma. Darcy’s proposal was deliciously awful, and I appreciated that they differentiated between dragons and wyverns. Otherwise, it was basically Pride and Prejudice. With dragons.

I should know better than to try to read anyone else's interpretation of my beloved P&P.
