This book mostly worked (despite the football-player hero). But it left me with a sour taste in my mouth. The heroine works hard to lose weight, and suddenly becomes attractive to the hero...and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Surely, she would regain the weight and he'd love her just as much and she'd realize that he was attracted to the real her, not to the perfect body. Nope.

"3 out of 5 stars! Tyson's life is falling apart. That's why he takes up his friend's offer to stay at his Idaho home for 8 weeks to recover from his knee injury and come to terms with what he has to do now that he's decided to raise his nine-month-old son. Yet because of his reluctance to get to know his son Tyson hires Dakota as a nanny, and as the days pass finds her more invaluable then ever ... in more ways then one.

This is an intense novel about betrayal, family loyalty, the multitude of love, and finding out who you are as a person while trying to become a better version of yourself."

I didn't like the characters much. I don't think the plot was very successful. The Dundee series was really cool so far. Even though Brenda Novak has some problems with her timeline. It's completely confusing. I stopped trying to keep up with it because it was driving me nuts. This last book was completely disconnected from the other books. The only connection was through Gabe and Hannah but it wasn't very convincing. The H and h had no chemistry and the story fell flat.
I enjoyed some of the books tremendously but this last installment left me in a book funk. I need to read or re-read something good immediately to erase this story out of mind. Ugh!

the false rape allegation was not sensitively handled and i didnt like any of the characters??? there's a way to have characters do abominable shit (skelton, rachelle, etc.) but not act as though they are justified or the victims of those actions are perfectly innocent. idk
