A cute book about caring for dragon babies! It’s a bit tropey and the romance is weak and feels very underdeveloped, but the character of Kaeldra and her complicated relationship with the dragon babies is very well done. I found the moments where
the dragons started to rebel and she realized she’s dealing with dangerous wild animals that she isn’t sure she can control and the moments where she considered abandoning them to their own fates because it was just too hard, too many sacrifices
really compelling. Not a fantastic book, but worth the read if the themes of sacrifice and caring for the helpless are interesting to you. I had a good time and I might read it again someday.

I loved this book series as a kid and wanted to pick it up again for nostalgia. I still enjoyed it and will probably read the other books again.
