I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

So I am normally not a big fan of poetry, but I just couldn't resist this one. The cover just was too pretty + I am a big fan of animals/nature.

And boy, I am happy I did try out this book as I had quite a lot of fun reading it. The book features 13 habitats on earth, from mountains to deserts. All of them accompanied by gorgeous illustrations and a poem telling us about the various animals that live in a place and about that habitat itself as well.

The poems are pretty gorgeously written and enjoyed reading them. Here is an example, this one is from The Outback:
"Soon, a sky of diamonds will sparkle in the billabong.
Hour of the old stories.
For this is a land made in Dreamtime."

The illustrations are really a gem, be sure to check them out (and not just focus on the poems). Some of the illustrations feature various hidden creatures, and all of them are just so pretty to look at and find all sorts of fun details.

Plus points to the last part of the book with more information about the various habitats.

All in all, a book I would recommend to everyone, even if you are like me and not a big fan of poetry, this book will charm you.

A beautifully illustrated and musically written book of poems all about the environments and habitats of our world.

Each poem about a different type of land and habitat includes animals and wildlife from the area, that you can spot in the accompanying illustrations.

And on top of that, the book encourages children to consider their impact on our world and how they can help to protect it!

I got this via Netgalley in exchange for a review but all thoughts are 100% my own.

I loved how the poems feature certain environmentas that are being threatened by extinction. It's something very often discussed on my course at uni and it made for an even more engaging topic in poem form.
The illustrations were stunning and I'd love prints of them. The blank windows in them kind of frigten me, but I understand it to be our mark as humanity blemishing them...I loved how the animals were written in italics. It makes them feel like there is more power in the point being driven and I also feel like it would highlight animals to a younger reader for them to then go and research those they didn't know much about.
It has an interesting pattern... Almost story like to read, which makes it even more mesmerising.
Prarie, Woodland, Rock pool and Deep sea were favourites put of the 13 poems. Being poems however, it made for a very quick read.
The information about how our wild world is being lost was made even clearer at the end, letting us know what is happening and what we can do, in a basic way for all to understand.

I really hope this book can make a difference because it is beautiful inside and out. I think it would be amazing if a portion of the earnings made on sales went to helping the planet.

Pick it up, give it a go and enjoy >(^_^)<

Teach your kids (and adults) about the amazingly beautiful world we have and how we're failing it. The author includes some info on how you as an individual can find ways to try and save our beautiful wild world.

This is definitely a cute kids book. It's an excellent tool to teach kids different endangered ecosystems, the life that lives there, and what it all looks like. The illustrations are absolutely adorable but realistic enough that you can tell what a photo of the animal would look like. If I had one caution for parents, it would be that the depictions are true to the creatures so there is an illustration of dead animals, complete with minimal blood. Kids that are super sensitive may have problems seeing it but it is an illustration, not a photo, and not gory at all. Most kids would be able to handle this book with ease and all kids should learn the things this book teaches. Each page really is a treat and has highlighted text for kids to seek out certain animals in the environments. Overall, definitely a cute book that's great for kids and helps parents make them aware of the endangered pasta of our world.

I would like to thank the publisher, author , and Netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was not expecting this to be a poetry book. But it is. Each poem is about a landscape and those that inhabit that landscape. The book is a cry for the reader to help save these wild places. The book is stunning. The illustrations could hang on any wall.
