This is the story of a liberal lawyer from cosmopolitan Lisbon who gets assigned the task of being governor of colony São Tomé e Príncipe. It’s full of adventure, intrigue, politics and romance. The descriptions of the islands are stunning and make me want to visit :) really loved this book, I read it so quickly because I couldn’t stop!
