I read this out of order, I read Omnibus 2 and then got Omnibus 1 after loving the former so much. This one is pretty good, but it suffers a bit from having to build up to all the story conclusions in 2. Definitely a great Fantastic Four run and definitely worth reading the entire Hickman run.

It’s always weird to see how other comics writers write Spider-Man, he’s always too jokey. Anyway, people recommend this run but just like All-Star Superman it’s not great as a first F4 run. Still great tho

It was a slow burn. I wasn't loving it until all these seemingly one shot stories suddenly morphed into something much greater. This was my first Fantastic Four comic book, and it was a great one, helmed by the great Jonathan Hickman.

The strength of Hickman's run peters out at the end, but he hits all the notes I associate with the Fantastic Four better than anyone but Lee/Kirby and Byrne, and has a knack for drawing on the Marvel universe's weird and voluminous history without seeming burdened by it.
