I really liked this!! I usually not into mythology retellings (gods and heroes are SO DRAMATIC), but Circe the goddess/witch was very relatable and I was rooting for her. And I LOVED the ending.

3.5/5!!!

There are not enough adjectives to describe how much I loved this book. It's beautifully written, with a rhythm and pacing familiar from The Song of Achilles and a beautiful, heart wrenching, thrilling story. Miller's books are especially wonderful for those of us who love Greek mythology, but a background in the classics isn't necessary to follow (and love) her books. I'm grateful that there are so many myths left for her to reimagine, and I can't wait for her next one.

I found this to be a fairly slow read, but ultimately enjoyable. I've always been a big fan of Greek mythology. This was a very capable retelling from the vantage point of the goddess Circe. I enjoyed looking at well known stories from another view point. It was well written and interesting. Unfortunately, I'm not very quick at reading audiobooks (and this one had a very long wait list), so it took me multiple loans (with significant wait times in between) to complete this read.
