Loved the premise! Could I go back in time and relive something, possibly change the course of my life? Yes, please!

After careful thought, no thank you. That initial “yes” was a gut reaction, but despite all the tough things I’ve been through in my life, I don’t think I would change a thing.

My Review of
As You Wish by Jude Deveraux

I was thoroughly enchanted with As You Wish. This is a series but may be read as a standalone. If you have never read this author or series before then you are in for a treat. I quickly settled into this story. Jude Deveraux did not disappoint with this installment of the series. The three women who are looking to change one thing about their past were as different as could be but bonded together well. The men were well... what can I say, I could not stand any of these women's husbands except for Olivia's husband and that was questionable at times. The author did her job of making these men intolerable. The women in this story had great character traits and each one had a very compelling backstory which I found so interesting I could not wait for every chance that I had to listen to this book. This is an enchanting book that also gives a message of hope, love and how important it is as women to show strength and independence. This review was originally posted on My Fiction Obsession

I wanted to like this book.- I really did I promise but … I didn't. I mean I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. It was … okay.

I remember absolutely loving the other book I read from this series years ago so I thought that I would like this one too, but I didn't really care for it.

The characters were all right though Ray seemed like a really interesting character I wanted to learn more about but he gets discarded in favour of his wife Kathy that is just one of the blandest most boring characters ever. I liked Elise and Olivia and their stories but Kathy just seemed to be there as a third person that needed to be there- I didn't care for her, didn't root for her and when she got her happy ending I didn't really care.

My main problem with this book is pacing- I picked this book up because it's about time traveling and it's about going to the past and changing it - and that doesn't happen until half way through the book - first 250 pages are just spent introducing the characters, which would be interesting if didn't get repetitive and boring -

I like Olivia's story and I liked that not all of her story was dumped on us in the first few chapters though- some of it is left for her traveling to the past. And I liked Elise and how you think that she is a spoilt rich kid that has everything but she is far from it- I also loved the resolutions for these two.

I also disliked the fact that these women were absolutely perfect and good and the men in their lives had to change- that was just annoying. But that and a few other minor details and one of the main characters being the blandest most cliche person ever made me struggle to finish this book - but I am glad that I did- I still plan on reading the other one and re-reading the one that I read a few years ago though, just so I can see if I like them.

This should be a movie

Loved the summer house series overall ,I do wish there were more books...and this book in particular I enjoyed. It touched on a lot of common problems people grow through and over just great perspective. You really see the personality in the girls decisions they make the 2nd time around. Jude Deveroux is quickly becoming a staple in my library.

I couldn't get past page 70. There was so much sex mentioned on every other page that it was just gross. I used to love Jude Deveraux's books, but I don't remember them being like this. Seriously, three strangers meet and within an hour are discussing their sex fantasies. I had to put it down. This one is a definite no.

I'll admit. This type of book it total catnip for me. Who doesn't want a chance for a do-over? Even if you're happy there's always something you'd do differently in the past. Have a chance to make something right. Stop a wrong from happening.

Love the Summerhouse Series

Jeanne Hightower & Madam Zoya pass the torch, and it makes for such a great read. Fans of this series will not be disappointed. Ms. Deveraux can we have a fourth book in this series please?!

I enjoyed this. I love the way it pulls in the Montgomery family, and the interactions between the three women. Realism...maybe not so much, and not just about the time travel element. But a really fun read.

The book started well for me and I was very into it, wanting to know more about the people. But as the book went on I found them more annoying. The books mains characters are three women and I don’t think it would pass the bechdel test! I guess I like my women less whiny-about-men.
