This lovely historical fiction picture book imagines how a family would celebrate Passover in secret during the Spanish Inquisition. The illustrations are beautiful and atmospheric, and the story includes a short explanation of Passover that is simplified while still being accurate.

A lovely Sephardic Jewish story is rare to find! A clever man finds a way for his family to celebrate Seder at a time when Jews hid their religious practices.

A very sweet book about a young girl wanting to have a Passover seder with her family and the special way they go about it. I appreciated that it was from the POV of a young Spanish girl and not the usual Ashkenazi view point I think most people are used to seeing in media.
Moderate: Antisemitism
