another good one, although this one felt pretty long to me. i didn’t feel the urge to pick it up as much as the first book for whatever reason. i did really love the backwards chapter numbers though.

i live for pseudonymous bosch’s interjections. i would also die for yo-yoji.

This book did not impress me as much as the first one. I am not sure why but I was definitely not as into this book. I would put it down and look at the next books on my list. I don't think that I will give up on this series, I am just not as enthusiastic about it as I was at the beginning.

Perfect for fans of Lemony Snicket. Bosch has a similar tone and style to Snicket, with a seemingly omniscient narrator who may or may not be reliable, but who is definitely funny. The children are clever and good-hearted, much like the Baudelaire's. I particularly liked the production value of this audio recording. The full cast and sound effects brought the experience to the next level.

I loved the fourth wall breaks and the full cast narration of the audiobook.
