I hovered between 3 and 4 stars on this one. On one hand, I REALLY love about 1/3 of the book. When those poems hit, they hit hard and in the best way! Almost all of them, however, where in the section ‘please love me at my worst’ (ironically lol).
But the rest of the book was just…simplistic. I guess I’m just not a fan of the micro, yin-yang, generically-phrased poetry that seems to be so popular. I’m glad I read this as an e-book instead of buying a physical copy because I think I would’ve gotten irritated with being disappointed that it was a ‘waste of my money and time’ or something like that.
Overall, a decent book with some great poems but not my thing.
