My hold lapsed at the library so I didn't have access to it anymore and I wasn't far enough into the story that I felt motivated to get it again. I will definitely try reading it again though, I just don't think I was in the right frame of mind.

Daaammmnnnn, amé tanto este libro. El Retrato de Dorian Gray era uno de esos clásicos que tenía pendiente hace años, y me conseguí una edición muy bonita que me incentivó a darle una oportunidad de una buena vez. Eso sí, no me esperaba para nada lo que encontré en estas páginas. La novela de Oscar Wilde... Hay libros que simplemente se sienten como si hubieran sido hechos a medida :)

Esta novela es sin duda una de las mejores representaciones humanas de la humanidad. Incluso antes de leer esta obra sabía que, según Wilde, cada pieza de arte es más del artista que de cualquier otra persona. El Retrato de Dorian Gray explora la naturaleza del pecado, la moralidad y la inmoralidad, los tonos de gris que abarcan una personalidad... Siento que esta es más la expresión de los propios pecados secretos de Wilde y de su propia vida que otra cosa. Es un grito al vacío que terminó causando un estruendo en el mundo y en la percepción de nuestra individualidad a través de los siglos. La prosa de Oscar Wilde me dejó sin palabras. Sus románticas palabras se deslizan de una manera que no puedo comparar y astfdyguh me enamoraron por completo. Mi parte favorita fue sin duda alguna la escritura del autor. ¡Y qué personajes! No, no puedo hacer esta reseña. SIMPLEMENTE NO ENCUENTRO LAS PALABRAS.

¿Por qué le doy 4 estrellas y no 5? Reconozco que no es una razón válida al 100%, pero acá va: me aburrí. Creo que tardé como dos meses en terminarlo desde que lo empecé entre que lo leía y lo dejaba y lo retomaba y lo dejaba. Me pareció una narración un tanto densa, con párrafos innecesarios y... bueno... ME COSTÓ TANTO PASAR LAS PÁGINAS. Mmmmm, me aburrí, gente xD. Sorry not sorry! El Retrato de Dorian Gray no fue un libro que me acelerara el corazón en lo más mínimo.

PD: Vi que alguien en Goodreads preguntó: "¿Por qué odio tanto este libro?" y la mejor respuesta fue la siguiente: "Porque representa todos los pecados que nunca tuviste el coraje de cometer. O pensas que este libro es inmoral. O porque..." Perdón, pero esto me dio mucho risa y ES. MUY. CIERTO.

“As for believing things, I can believe anything, provided that it is quite incredible” is quoted daily. Obviously a good story and wonderful writing, not easy to get through, but I grow fonder the more I move away from it.
