Tempted to give this two stars because Rick Riordan really did find a way to put the sentence “Perhaps not all men…” into the book where he introduced the Hunters of Artemis, who foreswear men for all their immortal lives — and he really did make that sentence be uttered by one such maiden (:

I did really enjoy this book! It was especially interesting seeing Percy go on a quest without Annabeth (and at times Grover), and work with people he didn’t necessarily get along with.

Percy proves himself to be a pretty cool character who I think has massive potential for development as he gets older.

This book also raised the stakes as two characters ended up proving how dangerous this war is going to be.

I especially liked the plot point of Bianca and Nico being stuck in the Casio and losing decades of their lives, it was definitely a clever choice and I’m interested to find out who it was that got them out.

Finally, the gods can be real a holes. Especially to a bunch of kids who are their children.
