I really enjoyed this book! It was so interesting so see Emma slowly changing. She's a complete brat at the beginning but you've got to love her by the end. And there's absolutely too notch banter between Emma and Mr. Knightley!

I have been told to read this book since high school when I fell in love with Pride and Prejudice and now I have fallen for the charm of Emma. Reading Emma and Mr. Knightly's banter has been entertaining from beginning to end, in the way along acquaintance can be. The characters of Emma makes it one of the best reads, and I cannot wait to one day come back and read it over again.

This is the latest entry in my journey through Jane Austen with my wife. This was by far the most enjoyable of the three that I have read. The characters were so well done. I loved watching Emma fail and get put in her place. The story follows Emma Woodhouse a beautiful, spoiled, and self-assured young woman. She is always right in the matter of love. She’s an insufferable matchmaker who leads her “friend” Harriet around like some sort of pet. Constantly she places Harriet in unwinnable matches and completely misreads situations and intentions. I must say that I really did enjoy this book. The two Mr. Knightly’s were my favorite characters. My one complaint is that this book is so long! I could have rated this book a 5 out of 5, it was about 2 to 4 hours short of a listen. Its word count is more than J.R.R Tolkien’s The Two Towers! And this is a romance! A ROMANCE! It’s too much. The book drags a bit in my opinion. I watched the 1997 film version and really enjoyed it.
