You know what's great about this book? I mean, you know, it's not one for the ages or anything, it's just a cute picture book that is fun for the stack and/or might be a great intro to a photography activity - but what's really great about it is that I was expecting some kind of stinkin finger-shaking anti-narcissism, anti-device fable... but in fact there's no judgement at all here.

The fact that this book exists very much bothers me. I am not an advocate of children having cell phones and this book perpetuates the idea that this is okay. Furthermore, it has the child doing nothing except taking selfies to the detriment of everything else. I recognize that the book is tongue-in-cheek, but that would belong more in the humor section and to parents along with Go the F**K to Sleep than to children's picture books.

I wasn't expecting much from this, but I ordered it based on some other reviews. It is really, really cute. And, in this age of smartphones, what kid doesn't like to take the occasional selfie? They will be sure to relate.
