It's the first book I read by John Boyne and it was great! There's plenty of black humour, a dysfunctional family, a group of bizarre characters.
I had fun and loved how he plays with words and created a fascinating story.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I was on board for all the satire surrounding wealth, social media, extreme cancel culture, and performative wokeness. Still, unfortunately, this author decided to project some anti-trans bias that I was not a fan of. Making fun of purposely misgendering and non-binary identities is not the radical free-thinking this author thinks it is, and I will not stand for it when there is already so much hate and bigotry in people's hearts.

This book didn’t capture me at all. I felt no connection to any of the characters and thus wasn’t too bothered what happened to them.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
