A strong 3.5* read for me, getting the bump up as I did enjoy it.
I liked the dinosaur/dig parts - the geek in me coming out! a bit of a lesson in terms of how these things happen but not preachy either.
The mystery element was good whilst going on but I did feel that the resolution/revelation of the evil do-er at the end was a bit of a damp squib - maybe exploring more with the 'baddie' would have helped.
I enjoyed Hunter and Nick's dancing around each other but I did feel Nick got a bit simpering miss-ish on me towards the end and as their relationship developed.

Nick Eisenberg was one of the strongest and most relatable protagonists I have read in quite some time. He was driven, motivated, comfortable in his own skin, a little damaged but not beyond redemption. In other words, I believed everything the author had him think or feel as if it were truth, and that is not an easy feat (so sue me, I’m a skeptic).

I liked this well enough but the plot was a little confusing at times and Nick was a bit too whiney. I do love an instalove/instalust story but it's harder to connect that when combined with enemies to lovers is also a primary trope. Just my opinion though.

Some good stuff here but overall it felt like the author had a bunch of half-baked ideas and couldn’t decide which ones to cut, so they’re all here. Not bad ideas, some were quite promising, just not fully developed.

A very enjoyable paleontology-based romp. There's a sentence you don't get to type enough. Really enjoyed the push-pull between the heroes, and the background was hugely convincing and interesting. Lots of humour, lots of banter, liked the punch in the face to start with, all great stuff.
I didn't quite buy in to Boner's plot role. Liked him as a character but there seemed to be a rather nebulous quality to what he was there for, in plot terms, so that didn't quite spring into focus for me. And I felt the external threat could have been bigger or more menacing, it kind of slid out of sight in the middle of the book.
Quibble, quibble. I really enjoyed this and will be looking out for others by this author!
