I. love. being. queer. Having taken the better part of a decade to get to that conclusion though, younger me would have died for a book like this in high school or college. Something that helped me feel less isolated, less /broken in my small conservative hometown.

I'm probably viewing She Gets the Girl through rose tinted glasses as a result, but I had so much fun reading it that I can't be bothered to care. Alex and Molly are so cute together, and while yes, of course, she gets the girl, I can't help but think their friendship is more important to the story. They each start with walls up, misconceptions about one another in full force, but as time progresses their edges soften. What would have been an argument previously turns into an opportunity to learn something new, and *that* is much more a catalyst to their growth than any romantic entanglement.

this book was very cute! I ordered this book as a preorder like back January and I didn’t start it till now. Such a sweet book and I love the authors (have their signatures hehe) and this was all around a good book. nothing really to complain about! just personally I feel like I've been reading a lot of the same sort of sapphic books recently and I need to change it up so I don’t get bored like I did at times with this but doesn’t mean I didn’t like it !
