Can I just say that I am loving the fact that so many of my favorite authors are writing in the fantasy realm. I am grateful that I received an advanced reader copy and that does not influence this review in anyway. This book does not disappoint. Complex story added with a wonderful world building.
Romy aka Romeria our protagonist is feisty, independent, and a thief. I loved that the story unfolded for the reader as it did for Romy. The slow burn romance with King Zander was a fantastic enemies to lovers trope that I enjoy. I am very much looking forward to more books in this world.
Fantastic novel!

I nearly rated this book 1 stars but I like the character of Romeria and the author has managed to make me want to read the next one. But here’s the thing, there are large parts of this book which you could cut out and it would not make a difference at all. Most of this book feels like a drag, nothing really happens, even at the end of the book where I felt hooked the most, nothing really happened. I really liked the romance between Zander and Romeria but there wasn’t that many other memorable characters. It’s sad because I think with
a bit of change the book could of been amazing but it felt like such a drag at points and a lot of the book was spent just explaining to the reader the world but it was done in such a boring way I just did not care. Anyway I thought about reading the next one but read the reviews and Apparently the next seems to have the same complaints I have about this book so, Yh not going to read that.

What a treat!!!! I listened to this on audio and really loved it! The narrator did a great job switching between accents for various characters.
I didn’t have many expectations going into this one, but around 50% when it was revealed that Zander is a VAMPIRE-like creature, I literally gasped out loud and was like “HELLLLL YEAH” and was so much more invested, hahaha.
After finishing, I really appreciated what felt like some fresh takes on a classic fantasy romance. I like that our Romeria is in a different Romeria’s body, and the reveal towards the end that it’s not even HER body and her face actually surprised me! It’s been a glamour? WHAT. It’s only her BRAIN/magic?! I’m super invested now, haha.
And I’m glad that the spicy parts of the book were as good as they were because I wanted MORE spice from K.A.Tucker’s Noah/Callie storylines in her Simple Wild series, but I love to see an another write contemporary romance as well as fantasy! I think so many authors get pigeonholed into one genre, and I love to see the variety. :) Will definitely be continuing on with this series as it publishes!

I picked this book up after a series of easy-reading super spicy adult books, craving something a little more in-depth.
After taking a few chapters to shift my brain and sink into it, I loved it. It's definitely hefty, and there's a lot of world building to absorb. It's 100% a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers (as in, you wait until 75% to start getting any lovers action) fantasy tale.
I have read TOG and ACOTAR, as well as a few other similar ones, and I have to say that this one has enough unique elements that it stands on its own and the physical copy has earned a permanent place on my bookshelf. If you ~didn't~ like those books, however, I can't say that this one is drastically different enough that it's worth trying.

From pick pocketing to stealing from the rich in New York, Romeria gets thrown into a world where her skills will be no match for what she is to face. She is coerced by a mysterious woman to steal a stone from a sacred garden, all while taking the identity of a princess who murdered a rival King and Queen. Weird thing is, this woman's identity that Romeria is taking looks just like her!
This book has tons of information which can be hard to get into, but I feel like the reason behind it is that you are learning everything along with the main character. Who, by the way, is amazing and is the chosen one! She is very complex and you feel all her emotions with her. So if you can look over the info dumping please do, because this book was amazing!
Get ready for some enemies to lovers, portals, elemental magic, fake lovers, rival kingdoms, crime boss, thievery and tons of blood suckers!

Ohhhhhh. It was so good. Such a well written, slow burn romance. The characters really took their time to grow you until you came to love them. Everything was written in such detail. My only complaint is that the end felt somewhat predictable, though that didn't lessen my love of the story. I can not wait until the next one later this year!

This book sat on my shelf for far too long. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this! This was amazing! The only upside is that I was able to jump straight into book 2 from the Libby app.
This book started in our very recognizable world and quickly transported us into another.
Romi’s life has been hard and just when it looks like her minor luck has run out she is rescued by a mysterious stranger… who wants something. Given her options are to end up dead or take the stranger up on her offer, she complies only to wake up in a strange place, accused of treason, treachery and murder.
This book follows as she tries to figure out how to complete her task while not dying in the process. All while navigating an unfamiliar world where she discovers many, including herself are not human.
I’ve been a vampire girlie ever since Buffy but this was a new take that took me on an amazing ride.

This was a 4.5 read, I really enjoyed it. I got the first two books of this series when they popped up on my audible plus as free for the month and I am so glad that I did. I adored this book, it was such a good listen with magic, fantasy, and romance. The romance in this book was great, I loved watching the MMC fight his feelings for the FMC as he realizes she’s not the same person he knew, at the same time you are watching the FMC discover the new world she has landed in. The magic system in this world was great, I can't wait to see if Romeria's two worlds come together in later books. I have already started the next book in the series and I am loving it as well.
Romy is a thief in New York city forced to work for a crime boss. When she is kidnapped by Sophie to help save the life of Sophie's husband and sent to another world. Romy is put into the body of the woman who has just murdered the king and queen and Romy is soon taken hostage by their son, the new king and the woman whose body she is currently in betrothed.
This was a great romantasy read and I'm so excited to continue the series.

A Fate of Wrath and Flame definitely kept me guessing through the end of the book.
Although as a reader, it's clear what is coming, soooo many of the jumps and turns were surprising and interesting.
A bit too long and hoping the next book is just as good!

4/5 stars. I didn't really like this book at first and it was a little more murder mystery than I thought it would be but it turned out to be really good and I got sucked in. Excited for the 2nd book!
