I would give this 3.5 stars. Very appealing art style and good action with a somewhat lackluster storyline.

Is this story a little ridiculous? Yes. But does it work anyway? Absolutely.

When Emmett Quinlan comes into possession of a magical sword that cures his dementia, giving him back the family and memories that were slipping away from him, he finds everything he and his loyal son were hoping for. But the sword brings with it powerful beings, and not all of them are friendly. This forces Emmett to balance his newfound power and his restored memories against the safety of himself and all he cares for.

Bringing the fantastic boldly into a rural Texas setting, "God Country" is an epic fantasy adventure that also delves into questions of mortality, family, and legacy. It is both huge in scope and intimately personal, striking a balance between the fantastic and the raw human desire to gain just one more day with the things we love.
