Belle's Discovery while not able to fit with the movie canon, is a fun little story about young Belle finding a way to prove to the town that books are important.

Upon a 2nd read, there is also a good lesson about not giving up. A lesson that Belle teaches Mrs. Hugo, the bookstore owner. Maurice's advice to Belle about embracing her differences is also good advice for anyone to follow I think.

It is also a good example of how different people with different interests can band together towards a common goal, just like Belle and her classmates coming together to save the bookshop.
