I had a seizure trying to read and understand this book. But one I did I actually really enjoyed it. It made me feel smart and educated. And thanks to this book, yapsville was born.

An allegory of the life in Renaissance Italy. Whilst the period is often regarded as the flourishing of a South European art. it was also the age of barbarism: state corruption Papal perversion murder and theft (which helped finance the art). It also saw a resurgence of the attacks on non Christian groups and I prefer to read Dante in relation to the attacks on and destruction of the pagans.

lets be honestt this was bible fanfiction, but like... it slays.

Dante and Virgil are top tier ship and they deserve a ´song of achilles´ treatment.
btw, Achilles was in the Hell-circle of horny people (yes it was the most unhiged thing i ever read)

despite that, i´m still deeply disturbed from that dude who ate his sons...
"than hunger proved a greater power than grief" (Canto 33)

J'ai beaucoup aimé ma lecture malgré la difficulté à saisir certains détails et noms, en particulier dans la dernière partie de l'œuvre. Je pense que je le relirai.

this book definitely checks the box "Are the flaws of the main character(s) a main focus of the book?"
wasn't horribly boring, better than Paradise Lost, easier to read
