She was Aelin Ashryver Galathynius—and she would not be afraid.

3.5☆ but I still enjoyed it pretty much a lot. I couldn't put it down.
The writing is really good, addictive. The world, the magic, Celaena's adventures - all were very interesting to see. Not gonna lie, I was here mainly for Celaena kicking the King's ass and Chaol and Dorian helping her in that. I mostly enjoyed the book, however! There were triggering upsetting moments present (
descriptions of Celaena's past in Endovier, Manon's cruelty and her grandmother's, Maeve's cruelty, cruelty towards wyverns
). Those moments quite ruined the enjoyment of the book, that's why 3.5 stars and not 4 or more, alas. Other than that I really loved this book, as much as I did with previous two in the series.
P.S. it's really cute that Sarah Maas included her dog in acknowledgements!

This one was the best book so far! I am in love with Manon! Loved her storyline so far, I loved the new characters, the new things we learned. The plottwists! The new places we found! I can't wait to read the next book!

Ok I'll take back the negative things I've said about this series because THIS. This is the flavor of epic I had been promised with this series.

The story opens into an ensemble cast, with Celaena/Aelin and Rowan (my new favorite character, sorry Chaol) in Wendlyn; Chaol, Dorian, Sorscha, and Aedion in Rifthold; and Manon and the Ironteeth witches in the Ferian gap. Additionally, as more information about Celaena was revealed, she became more 3D, more likeable. I find it easy to identify with and root for her now.
I'm still not sure where things are headed with Manon.

There were some themes in this book that reminded me of A Court of Silver Flames, like Celaena feeling useless and avoiding her responsibilities until forced training helps her out of it. I enjoyed it then and I enjoy it now. Though—dare I say it—this might be a better series than ACOTAR.

I love how this series just keeps building!! Every detail is important. It’s soooo well written. It always surprises me when someone or something I thought wasn’t important is, or the other way around. I liked how Thai book felt like it was kind of a preparation book for the next book, although to some this may feel like you are just getting through the training part to get to the real battle I really just love seeing how Celaena’s character is changing and growing. I also loved the new relationships in this book!

I cried reading this book. The story is great and i loved the characters. The POVs change but it’s great. Typical for a Sarah J. Maas book: the last 100 pages everything’s on fire.
