3.5! ⭐️ I read the first 80% of this book in one night, thought I’d finish it but the moment I hit that 80% mark everything started dragging and getting overwhelmingly mushy. I love Jodi’s books and this might be the first one to leave me a little... unsatisfied.

Don’t read ahead if you don’t want any spoilers!!

So the main couple gets a happy ending, which is good because I can’t stand sad endings but the happy ending they got is nowhere near what I expected. I thought they would end up being a power couple, but he wanted a simple life instead. And don’t get me wrong, it makes sense to want peace after a life of war and hatred but I thought after everything his father had done for him he would at least want to protect his legacy and carry on his wishes. Instead, the moment his father died he turned his back on everything he left him and that left a sour taste in my mouth, buuuut he chose himself and his happiness in the end and we can’t really blame him for that.

They both seemed so powerful, independent and strong in the beginning of the book I assumed that together they’d be a force to be reckoned with. The heroine went from 100% fearless to constantly being saved and crying.

it was a good read nonetheless and if you like very romantic happy endings with “new beginnings” this is the book for you!

I love a mafia romance but this felt like it was maybe trying a little too hard to be dark but came off as just.. trying a little too hard

I really enjoyed this book. This is the first book I've read from this author and it has been on my TBR quite a long time (more than a year)
After finishing The Britt I don't really understand my earlier hesitation.
It has everything that a good mafia romance requests. The book is plot driven and spiked with some good quality spice and some good banter. We can see a little different family dynamics than your usual mafia books and it's a nice touch as well.

This story was such an intriguing read! It held me me from page one and I was not able to put this book down until I finished. It is dark and sexy and I fell hard for this anti-hero. I love Jodi Ellen Malpas' work and this story was no exception. I was completely lost in the story and the character's journey. I can't wait for more from this author. I will be first in line to read.

This was different than previous books by this author and I have to say, I really liked it. Maybe, even more than her other works. There was a Griffin few to her writing that drew me in. I liked the dark undertones and falling under the spell of a world that should not be appealing but was.

Strong characters and storyline. It ended on a happy for now ending which is not my favorite. I liked it but I wanted more of the future. I'd like it if the author continued writing mafia. Getting mafia and an over the top alpha type mail would be a dream come true.

2⭐️ demasiado potencial desperdiciado
