The Surrender is the second book in Her Monstrous Boys. This time we get more focus on Kyan, the god of air, so we get his and Quintessa's pov as well as Qora's. We also get a change in court as we are now at Kyans court, the court of storms.
I liked this one more than the first, mostly because even though it was focused on Kyan we got more of the other gods. We also get more about the people of the court and how the curse has affected them which makes me even more interested to learn more about this world. I did however not enjoy Qora's chapters as much, even though it was interesting to see a glimpse from outside of the waste. I do love that we get more of Kyan and Merikh together and the spice is even better in this one, at least for my preferences. I also really enjoy the villain and their backstory.
Be sure to check the trigger warnings before you read though because it’s definitely not for everyone, especially since Quintessa loves to feel everything, both pleasure and pain.
I got the arc version of The Surrender from author Emily Shore in return for an honest review.

Ok, can book two be as good as book one. I think so.. I love the whole book. Even though I wanted to almost throw my phone at the last few chapters. Can't wait to see what happens next

Reviewing as an ARC reader, this is my honest review.
I want to keep Kyan all for myself.
Book 2 was even better than book 1, in my opinion. The dynamic between Kyan and Merikh was interesting to explore and I loved that they showed that relationship. Even if the FMC is the center of the story and breaking the curse, the other relationships feel just as important. Quinny appreciates that and didn't try to get in the way of anything. I love that Quintessa seems even stronger now than in book 1 as well.
Kyan was so torn and has been so broken. I loved that the theme throughout this book is Surrender. You can't have a real love without it. And when your love story is this spicy, it's bound to get interesting.

This book was great ! I loved getting to know the fallen angel, kyan and his shadow ! The flow of the book was great.
I guess my only thing was the unexpected pregnancy trope. It's not my absolute fave, but I don't dislike it enough to completely put me off from reading or continuing the series. I know not many love that trope, so if that's you, this probably won't be it for you.
I cant wait to get to know more about mayce in the next book!!

Healing through surrender
Quinntessa is like a healing balm to her cursed and broken Kings. She continues to heal each if them in the way they each need. High spice , but full of all the emotions
