Seriously, set in a castle, in the highlands, with a sexy highlander wolf laird... what is not to like... I mean really?! LOVED it.

Heart of a Highland Wolf is book seven in the Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear. It can be read as a stand a lone.

This novel is full of mystery, suspense, adventure, romance, and sexy Scotsmen.

The story is so vivid and detailed that I felt like I was in Scotland right along with the characters. All the characters are intriguing, interesting, and have strong family ties. I loved all the Scotsmen that are introduced. Who doesn’t love a sexy man in a kilt? The story moves along at a nice pace, the romance is sweet, and the mystery/suspense was enjoyable.

I think the best thing about this series is that you can pick up any of the books and just go. You don’t have to read them in order to understand the world and characters.

Heart of the Highland Wolf was such a fun story to read. I love Ms. Spear’s Highland wolfs.

Rated: 5 Highland Stars

I'm not invested in this as a series, and maybe that could've made a difference but the writing left a lot to be desired and the dialogue didn't flow. I'm going to stop now and see if maybe I feel like picking it back up at a later date.

Julia is in Scotland with her best friend Maria to do research for her upcoming novel. While Maria and her crew are filming a movie at Laird Ian MacNeill's castle, Julia is doing her own investigating.

Julia finds herself attracted to and intrigued by the laird the minute she lays eyes on his picture. The feeling is mutual for Ian when he first sees Julia.

Although the book opens with a great scene, the overall story was a slow start. I didn't really start to get into the book until around chapter 15 or so. Before that, it didn't really seem like much of anything going on between Ian and Julia, just a lot of page filler. The romance between the two was pretty much nonexistant. Ian was constantly suspicious of Julia and trying to figure out what exactly it was she was hiding. The bulk of the story was him trying to figure her out and her lying to him.

Overall it fell short of my expectations. I really wanted to enjoy this one, but I just never really got there. When it was all said and done, I didn't feel like I knew Julia nd Ian any better than I did when I started the book.

I absolutely LOVED this book…hence giving it 5 stars. I wish I could’ve given it 10 stars. This book from the beginning to the end was Perfect. Terry Spear definitely knows how to make you feel apart of the werewolf experience in this book and all the other books she’s written. I love how she writes the werewolves as actual real-life wolves and not as Stephanie Meyer did in the Twilight Series.
I think I’ve fallen for Ian McNeill in this book and I had told Terry Spear that in her blog just recently when I read this book. I told her I would love to go to Scotland and meet a Scottish Man just like Ian…but I would have to keep it hidden from my half-Scottish Man at home. =)

This book takes through twists and turns, and some amazing heated sex scenes between Ian and Julia.
Who wouldn’t want to be locked away with a Scottish Werewolf all day and miss meals as Julia did? I know I wouldn’t mind. =)
I look forward to reading Duncan’s story next Fall which is Ian’s brother.
I definitely suggest anyone who likes reading about werewolves, you definitely read this series. Terry Spear takes you into a World that you will never forget.

Julia, even though a werewolf romance author, has come to Scotland with more than one intention. Julia, has been charged by her grandfather to find a artifact that is hidden within the castle. Even with a hidden agenda, Julia can't resist the magic of the scenery surrounding her, or how much Laird Ian Macneill makes her feel alive, both her human side and her wolf. However Ian is totall Alpha, leader of his people and his den, and doesn't like not being in control. Ian has had to be a leader for quite some time, and even though he hates strangers, and having a movie being produced at his home, is even more loathesome. However, Julia intrigues him, and his wolf only wants to get to know the little red even more. What he doesn't expect is to find Julia as his Mate...Heart Of The Highland Wolf is the seventh in the series. I have just loved each and every book that I have read from this author. When I found this one at the library, and saw that not only did it have werewolf shifter, but was mixed in with a scottish highlands theme, I definitely could hardly wait to read it. I have to say I didn't know when I started reading it how much I would like it....but I LOVED it!! Its by far my favorite book of the series. It was such a witty and engaging story, one that keeps the reader on their toes. There was one surprise after another and I felt myself feeling like laughing almost constantly. I loved both Ian and Julia. Ian is very alpha, commanding and domineering, the kind that is the 'he man' type. Which I found so amusing at times. Julia is feisty, stubborn and very headstrong. I found that together they created some heated chemistry. Overall a delightful and very engaging read that had me reading as fast as I could. I truly enjoyed the way this author mixed together a contemporary romance, with paranormal elements as well as some scottish highland culture mixed right in that made for the perfect balance for a outstanding read!!! It has to be one of the best werewolf romances I have had the pleasure of reading. One you don't want to miss out on reading!!! (plus who could resist such a beautiful cover...deliciousness) A ADVENTUROUS RIDE OF ACTION, MYSTERY AND ROMANCE!!!

this book wasnt so great! there was a heck of a lot of unfinished buisness...like what happened to the movie? what happened with her family? what about maria? this woman really is not a great friend because frequently through out the book she would just leave her friend. she didnt even go to say hi to her b/c she wanted to spend time with her new mate. WTF? even if i got a new mate or whatever i would still take time away from him to say goodbye to my BEST FRIEND WHO WAS LEAVING THE COUNTRY AND WAS UNSURE IF I WOULD EVER SEE HER AGAIN! like come on!

This is the first Terry Spear book I've read and I was very happy with her writing style. I'll definitely read more of her books. I liked the quirky side to this book, I also like that the hero wasn't rich ... that he was struggling to keep his head above water like the majority of us.
