This was good but sadly it felt pretty rushed. I did not get the opportunity to stay or even process a certain scene or moment before it switched to the next scene already. So I just wish it would have been longer and therefore explored its themes a bit deeper.

After reading Kincaid's non fic Among Flowers, I was a little unsure about Lucy living up to my expectations. Whilst I enjoyed Among Flowers, it lacked the depth and concise prose I had expected from Kincaid. Lucy however, had it all - sharpness and wit with a head strong yet reflective narrator etc, I could go on. Although short, it certainly makes a strong impact and I'm so glad I read it, stars all round & I highly recommend!
