This was a solid book for it being so short. I wish there was more to the story and plot but the spice level was good. It was a female character with five dudes that she ends up getting with for a good part of the book.

I didn't enjoy at all, the writing style just isn't for me and there's no relationship building.. It just jumps straight into s*x.

June 30, 2023 was "Stuff Your Kindle Day"—a day when a bunch of ebooks became available on Amazon for free. That was exciting until I realized that pretty much 100% of the novels available were romance/erotic novels.

I've read some mild romances before, like One Last Stop, but nothing like what I saw on lists compiled on third-party sites. But the books were free and I've always been curious why romance novels were such a huge business, so maybe now was the time to grab a few and check them out?

Kate's Crew was only ~60 pages so I figured it would be a good place to start. As you can guess from the book cover, it's a steamy short story where Kate fantasizes about the five men renovating the house next to her (and because this is a romance novel, her fantasy eventually comes true).

For what the book is, it's probably 5*—if you want to read a bunch of M-F, M-M, and M-M-M-M-M-F sex scenes, then this book is for you. When it comes to actual plot (or trying to keep track of whose body part belongs, and is in, who), maybe it's nothing too great.

I read this in three parts over the past week. It's definitely hot—I'll leave you with one very NSFW description of the final poolside tableau to give you an idea of what you'd experience reading this:

Something about the position seemed so right, harmonious. Mirror images, perfectly balanced. Mike fucked her ass while she lay on his chest. James fucked her pussy while Neil fucked his ass. She sucked Dave from his position on one side of the chair, and James did the same for Joe on the other.

Will I read any of the other free Stuff Your Kindle books I got? Probably some day... One or two were about time travel (and maybe not as Penthouse Letter-y as Jayne Rylon's books)
