The beauty and power is not only the photographs themselves but the stories of the UAW union members from Lordstown Ohio's GM plant, their families, and the history of labor in the US. There are included photographs by Kasey King, UAW Local 1112 and 1714 photographer, a section on how to unionize your workplace, essays on Frazier's work in comparison to other works on labor, and moving conversations that Frazier holds with the book's subjects and audiences. She says during one conversation: "This is where art gets its power. If an artist knows how to maneuver it, it's a platform for this kind of coalition building and to get these conversations going." She talks about a study that shows millennials believe in unionism, they just need to see it in action. "That's why I'm doing this work. This is about art and education to inspire the next generation." I admire her work so much and this is a meaningful and beautiful book.
