A thought-provoking and informed book that looks at the complex issue of victims' rights. Multiple narrators tell all sides of the story to show that nothing is ever as black and white as it seems, not even something as heinous as a criminal act. From its characters to its politics, the book is firmly rooted in Melbourne soil, but it explores themes that are profoundly human – the loss of a child, grief, and the desire for retribution. Fantastic debut novel!
