If you wonder why chihuahua's are so yappy, it's probably because they're trying to take over the world.

Ember is a typical Chihuahua who thinks they are bigger and meaner than anyone else. That until he meets the meanest squirrel in the world. Masher. This book made me laugh a lot. I liked how all the animals and even a bug worked together to solve the problem. B

Dog lovers unite for this cute new early chapter book series. Ember has been adopted by the Chin family but is convinced that he is secretly an evil overlord meant to rule the world, but first he has to defeat the local evil squirrel. Furthermore, what is Ember to do when he realizes that he actually likes his new family? A great start to early chapter book for dog lovers.

This book is highly entertaining! Even kids who don't have pets will laugh and feel genuine interest while reading this. I'm an adult and I cracked up a few times myself. I'm sure my 6yo is going to love it.

Ember is on a mission to rule the world, starting with his new family and fellow pets! There'  just one problem... a squirrel named Masher (backed by mighty army of acorn-throwing rodents) already rules the neighborhood. How can Ember conquer the world when he can't even conquer the front yard?

I am in love with this new laugh out loud series! Unlike the formulaic storylines found in many other transitional chapter books, each title is different enough to keep things interesting. Back matter includes comprehension questions and activities.

This is a fantastic book for early chapter book readers, especially the 2nd-3rd graders! Its strong point is the characterization of Ember, the chihuahua main character, whose goal is to achieve world domination. The only things in his way are trash cans and the nasty squirrel next door. I enjoyed every chapter of this book and can't wait to share it with students--just beware the last chapter ends on a major teaser for the next book, so have both on hand!
